Treason (Bombardier, Book Two) – Draft one is up!

I’ve written book two and it’s off for a deep edit.  Usually that would mean it’s due for release in a few weeks, but I’m planning to write the third book in the trilogy before releasing the full series.  For the first time the three books will be released in print version as a single book.  It’ll be a big book, probably around 180,000 words because it’s three books.

So, while I make evil plots for book three in this trilogy, I’ve been wondering what to write next.  I’m thinking PSI and then had to look up what I meant by that.  Turns out the term was used in Judge Dredd comics!  To me, it’s all about psychic ability.  Wouldn’t that be fun!  So, I might go robots or might go PSI.  Or maybe I’ll go completely nuts and put the two in the same book!

The fun thing about being a writer is there’s no limit to where you can take the mind.  I don’t know if it’s the same for everyone else, but real life can be monotonous.  Much of what we do on a daily basis is dictated by the need to pay our bills or is completely outside of our control.  Our imaginations, on the other hand, have no such limits.  I was very young when they landed on the moon, but I remember being told it was awesome.  I was surprised because that struck me as mundane even as a kid.

As a teenager I read the sci-fi greats – Asimov, Bradbury, etc.  I got into George Orwell (depressed bunny that he must have been).  I landed on horror at an early age and read everything from Pan Horror shorts to Clive Barker’s Books of Blood.  To this day I watch pretty much every sci-fi and horror film they make, even the seriously bad ones.  I love a good thriller as well and lately I’ve watched back to back crime documentaries.

My fascination with all of these genres is a wish that reality was wider than it is.  The limitations of space travel and mental abilities is just downright irritating.  I’ll be long dead by the time they work out how to launch us into space, colonize planets and understand how the brain works.  They probably won’t even finish unraveling DNA before I bite the dust.  I know I should be grateful to have been born into this era of science, but I want the engineers to be so much further advanced than they are.  Well, that isn’t going to happen so I’ll have to settle for making stuff up! 🙂

So, I’m off to keep writing and hope to have the full Bombardier Trilogy out before Christmas, after all Ark Three has a universe to get in order.  Those wicked critters won’t kill themselves, ya know!

I’ll be back soon with an update, but for now here’s the cover for the Bombardier Trilogy.  Oh, and check out the home page – Angel sent us a video message!

    1. Thank you! Jes Richardson from CoverBistro.com does all of our covers. As soon as we saw the cover we knew it was spot on! I’m glad you like it too! And I’ll get the trilogy out as soon as I can, hopefully just in time for Christmas. Will you be doing a Christmas video?
