Book 6, Call to War and other crazy ideas!

Book 6, ‘Call to War’, is well underway now. It’s with some regret I must say it looks like it’s the last book in this series. I don’t want it to be the last book and it has nothing to do with sales. With nearly 4 million ebooks on Amazon we spend almost every cent we make on preparing the book for release and marketing.

Releasing a book takes an extraordinary amount of time, money and effort. It’s certainly not about making money. It’s led me to wonder why I work so hard and I guess it’s because I really love to write and know people are enjoying the story.

I’ve been an avid reader from the moment I learned to read. Reading was an escape, a way to fill time or something that triggered my imagination and kept my brain busy. Now I love to write with as much pleasure as I once read.

I started writing because I couldn’t find anything I wanted to read and what I was reading didn’t explore people and situations the way I wanted. Once I discovered self-publishing I realised I could write my own stories and pass them on to anyone else looking for a fun way to pass some time.

Now I’m a writer and this is the most fun I can remember having in a long time. Gears, Ip, Pax, TL and the cast have kept me amused for almost a year now. Letting them go isn’t going to be easy. They’ve been a crazy crowd, dealing with the unimaginable in bizarre ways that always seem to work out well enough, with the occasional enormous loss of human life!

I decided I can’t quite let them go so I’ve left a hook in the end of book 6 for you to tell me if you want me to send them on another mission. I’ll be honest, I don’t want to send them home just yet. If you the reader want me to send them out for another mission, I the writer will be happy to oblige, but before I do I’m developing a new series.

Book 6 will be released in the next few months, so I’ll fill you in on the next epic I have in mind. This time we’re going sci-fi and horror which are my two fave genres. It’ll be epic, slightly nuts and, as always, a wild ride! It’s how I live my life and all I know how to do! 🙂

    1. Hi Jay, thanks for dropping by. I’m with you, I want more too! If enough people tell me they want another mission, I know I won’t be able to resist! I’ve even been tempted to write a prequel to explain where everyone came from before the virus hit and what they did the day it happened. I’m an addict! 🙂 Cheers, SD

  1. I agree with Jay! More please! I think the idea of a prequel, a new mission and a new sci fi/horror series is wonderful. You will be very busy but as always you will be keeping us and yourself entertained. Good luck and enjoy the ride!
