Early Release: Book 6, Call to War

Firstly, a big thank you to everyone who assured me they would like to see the series continue.  I took your advice on board and the end of Book 6, Call to War, brings our current argument with Ruler to a conclusion, but our fearless Horsemen won’t be quitting on us!  I’m not going to give away any plot spoilers about how and what comes to pass, but you know they’re always spoiling for a fight.  🙂

I’ve almost finished editing and it’s 100,000 words but, like a good trooper, I’m well ahead of the promised release date of June 2015 and I hope to have the book released in the next few weeks.  I know there’s more than a few people waiting for it.

Of course, this makes me wonder what to publish next and I’m tossing up whether to write the new series for the Horsemen or to start a whole new concept.  I already have an outline for a sci-fi series which I’ll share shortly.  Having always been amused by the idea that the human race is infused with alien DNA, this series will explore what would happen if one day the alien DNA became dominant.  Let’s be honest, we’ve all wondered whether some of the people we meet aren’t aliens.  It’s the only way to explain them!

I’ve left a question at the end of Call to War asking you readers whether you would like another book in what will now become the Horseman series, or whether I should launch an entirely new series involving aliens, wacky time travel and some super cool weapons.  The fun with sci-fi is you can let your imagination rip and mine is pretty nuts most of the time anyway.  I’m sure you’ve noticed that!

So, let me know and in the meantime, get ready for Call to War.  I love this book.  It’s packed with action and explanations, but leaves us with an age-old and eternal problem.  Writing the Hunter Wars series has been more fun than I can express and I can’t wait to get my head into the next mad series I’ll be writing.  Oh, yeah, all my stories will be mad and funny.  It’s the way I see the world, it’s what makes me laugh and what’s the point of living if we can’t have a good chuckle at the world we live in!

  1. First of all, I can’t wait for “Call to War!” I have grown attached to Ip and the boys. That said, my vote is for you to follow your instincts. I can go either way, continuing with the characters developed in the Hunter Wars or the new series about Alien DNA. Both ideas sound appealing to me! Finally, thanks for entertaining us!

    1. I did answer this Tim, but it looks like the tech gremlin munched it! Either that or I dunno how to use this software. Let’s blame the tech munchkin! After giving it some thought, I’ve decided to start the first book in the next Hunter War series called Eden Lost. I’m thinking about writing two series concurrently, but having never done that, I’m not sure I can. I do have a high-level plot for a three part series involving alien DNA that allows for some time sliding fun, and yet I also also have the plot outline for Eden Lost. Decisions, decisions. I’ll just wing it like I always do! 😉
