Woo hoo! Only 10,000 words to write and Hidden Evil (Book One of the Eden Lost series) will be in editing getting ready for release in September. I’m hoping it’ll be out in the next few weeks or so.
In this book we have a whole new gang of bad guys. Cain is a psychopath with a knack for removing organs from the living while they’re conscious. Faith, the woman Ruler ‘rescued’ on Hell Night before the battle, is crazy in a way you don’t want living next door to you. Ruler is plotting merrily, but he’s taken a bit of a sinister turn. He seems to have lost his sense of humor and isn’t underestimating our Horsemen this time.
As is my way, the story picks up where Hunter Wars left off. I hate it when series do an unexplained jump which is why my books will never do that. To me, that’s cheating, so ‘Hidden Evil’ deals with our Horsemen from the moment they dig their way out of their cold graves. Lots of new characters turn up in the new world, but all our old ones appear or have genuinely disappeared or are dead. Yes, I’m sorry to say, some of them died while we weren’t watching them. Of course, the Horsemen can’t die, they’re immortal.
Ip’s developed a new talent which makes perfect sense and I suspect she was always able to do it, but never bothered to tell anyone. Gears is no less crabby than he ever was and Pax is still a little on the stupid side. TL remains the only one with any sense and they’re still not paying him any mind.
My writing style had been evolving and I think this is a smoother read. It’s not quite as wordy as it was and my beta reader says it’s easier to read this way. Using fewer words, I’ve been able to pack in even more action and, as usual, there’s never a dull moment with these guys.
It’s been great fun teaming up with the Horsemen again, and I’ve missed their mad take on the world of the undead. Oh, except there are no undead left…or are there? Well, I don’t want to be dishing out any plot spoilers, so I’m gonna shut up now.
I’ll let you know when the book is released. In the meantime, here’s the cover. Watch this space…we’re just weeks away from release!
