It’s 2016!

As my leave draws to an end, I’ve almost finished editing ‘Enemy Lines’, and hope to release it next week. I spent my ten days off over Christmas writing, researching and editing.

The Navigator series is another post apocalyptic event, but this time the world has been changed abruptly by the emergence of aliens amongst us. This story already has a wide cast of characters.

– Lexie is a blinded Navigator who needs the visor to see, and is thrown into combat situations she can’t really deal with.
– Ark is a badly wounded vet who can see through Lexie’s visor and helps her survive combat theater.
– Leon is an average guy who joined the army for eight years, and was planning to quit to be with his new wife and future son.
– Jonesy is an older cop, no longer on the beat, who finds himself center stage of what’s happening in Albuquerque.
– Colonel Bill was assigned to the emergency bunkers, but leaves when he finds they’re ineffectual in the crisis.
– And there’s a myriad of other terrific characters who add their weight to the tale.

The story is initially set in Albuquerque, but our trusty team find themselves individually drawn to California where the Navigator gear is designed and built. Our Navigators come in all designs ranging from advanced vision to the ‘tanks’. Of course, nothing is ever easy, the tech is buggy and the aliens are tough, single-minded and brutal.

It’s always fun to try and imagine what would happen if the very fabric of our world changed tomorrow. What would you do if you woke up tomorrow and every second person had evolved into a homicidal maniac that was almost impossible to kill? That’s the premise of the Navigator series. They’re not brain eating zombies, but they are indestructible killers using humans to forward their colonization of the planet.

Survival of the fittest is being tested and it remains to be seen which species will ultimately dominate. Supposedly dinosaurs were wiped from the planet almost overnight, and there’s no reason we couldn’t be too…or is there? Is there something about mankind that makes us dominant, or did we just get lucky? What if a stronger species turned up? Could we hold our ground?

It’s another wild ride filled with plenty of action and terrific characters ready to do battle. My heroes never stand down, they don’t quit, and they will always kick ass. Some people have described them as tough, but I believe anyone can fall down, and it’s a true test of strength if you can get back up again.

Happy New Year! Here’s to an awesome 2016 for all of us!
